I'm about 5'7 as well - blimey, you've gotten tall! I remember you being kinda dinky for some reason :') And I weigh 12 stone. Now, this is where things get a bit strange. When I had a recent check-up with my doctor, she put my BMI as 21, which is okay. When I calculated my own BMI on myfitnesspal, it came up as 26, which is overweight. :/
The thing is, I may have given my doctor the wrong height by accident. I'm rubbish with conversions so I thought 5'7 was about 190cm - but measuring myself the other night, I'm actually 169cm tall, which could explain the conflicting BMI results.
My problem with jeans/pants is I have big hips and a big bum. My legs themselves are quite skinny, so based on my legs alone I could fit a size 12 no problem - but it's getting the jeans past my arse that's the issue :'D
I find that getting healthier is a little like my writing. It needs persistence, and you've got to settle into some kind of routine. People keep on their feet by tidying at home, or - and this is going to sound crackers - by doing step-ups on the stairs! I was thinking of trying that out - it's a good substitute for walking when the weather's crap.
Alas, I had a horrible lapse today. It was the Newton High Families' Group Christmas Dinner today. Cue food in abundance. I looked, I desired, I resisted, but eventually caved. Le sigh.
Tomorrow, A 160-minute ramble should keep me going.
