I've been here just over two months in total now and there's one good habit I've not yet gotten into.

When people phone in with a story and we answer, I always forget to ask people for exclusivity on whatever story they're ringing in. It's vitally important that we run a story first, what with us having the rival paper just down the road and all that jazz.

Note-to-self - the first line of defence is to ask for exclusivity. I must get into this habit!
