I still can't believe we're wringing a story out of the plain fact that there's a Platform 0 at Edinburgh Haymarket.

excited for party times indeed.

Believe it or not, that's where a lot of my ideas come from. One weird little fact. Then I just string further weird little facts onto it, add a few bits here and there that I'd desperately like to write and have seemingly no relevance, throw in a few characters and boom. I have a story.

I think it's probably a medical condition with a crazy-ass Latin name.

I've started a sketchbook, by the way, to get a bit of drawing practice in. Well, there'll be three sketchbooks: people, places and objects. That's a pretty broad scope! It'll just be for me to doodle while we get the script down so I can figure out what the characters'll look like and find a suitable drawing style. I'm good at Manga but I don't want it to be manga. I want a quirky British feel, and by golly I shall have it.

Factus Kelzare. We have decreed it, so it shall be.

We're doing it graphic novel style, aye? I'm much better at storyboard+dialogue in that format, actually. If you had me stick to prose for this sort of thing I'd be breaking the fourth wall constantly. Not that we can't break the fourth wall here too XD

Do you intend to upload it for the interwebs to see a la serial webcomic, or shall we save all of it for a suitable publisher?

Excellent. Now my lunacy has a name! (I shall call him Steve for short...)

Yep, graphic novel :D Storyboard to your hearts desire! I should have asked what format you'd be most suited to, actually. Storyboard/dialogue it is :)

Breaking the fourth wall in a graphic novel = awesome. We could make it hilarious!

I couldn't do a serial web-comic. If I did, it wouldn't last long. A huge, ongoing project would just peter out. We can post it on the internet if you'd like (I don't mind), but it won't be one of those COMICS WITH NO ENDING. Like Naruto or Bleach - they're going on ages and they've gone a bit crap.

STEVE MILLER (sorry, couldn't resist)

It'll take time because I have A LOT on my plate, but let's have brainstorm sessions once a week? Or just update the google doc and start talking at each other.

"This is Jimmy. He's a clot." "Didn't you hear the narrator! He just said I was a clot!"

I vote for plan+finish before we post it anywhere. That way we don't frustrate ourselves over omg haven't updated in ages. And I don't like things that are too long either.

Most likely a member of That There Cult :P

I've got two novels on the go, plus The Prince's Trust and voluntary work, so no worries, I know what you mean :) We'll go at our own pace - after all, regardless of where we are in the world, there's always Google Docs :D

HAHA. I vote we have a narrator who pokes fun at all the characters :D

Agreed with planning/finishing. We can work at a more leisurely pace that won't drive us mad, then, because there's no rush to update :) Then, when all is well and done, we can update. By the way, would you prefer black + white or colour? I'd prefer colour, personally, because it's snazzy and prettyful C:

Google Docs ahoy! :) I'll try and check it regularly for updates -- if not, just tweet at me. Hurrah for Twitter.

I second this vote. And added the narrator character: he's a holdover from another story of mine that changed mediums and he had nowhere to go, poor chap :/

I prefer B/W, but you're the artist, whichever you think is best.

I like colour because I think it's a lot more expressive. Plus you can create prettier artwork, I reckon. Black and white's okay, I suppose, but I'm looking for top-notch here.

It won't be all OMGMARIOWTFTECHNICOLOUR bright. I'll work on a colour palette, one which will convey an appropriate atmosphere :)

You're the artist; I trust your opinion! :) Besides, it gives me room to poke you re: the colour of everything. Wahey!

Btw, sent you a direct message on twitter because I wasn't sure you'd see email & lj message is playing havoc with me.

WOOOO EXTRA POKING RIGHTS <3

I replied on Twitter. Actually, it was only because I went on Hotmail that I saw the Twitter message :P I've e-mailed my pocketwatch friend because the shop name eludes me, but after a bit of pondering I've narrowed it down to either Miss Selfridge's or Debenham's - and there's possibly one other that I can't recall.

By the way, I've just looked on Amazon and there's a nice selection, quite affordable too. I might indulge myself when I'm not skint, as the black waistcoat I have has pockets that would be ideal.

OH IMMA BUYIN' ONE - when I have the money. I'm pitifully skint, right now. Next time I get paid, I'm saving £65 for you, buying myself a pocket watch and then it's saving for my move. The thought of getting as far as even June without money terrifies me :X

Apparently wink wink nudge nudge is not enough of a hint. Uhm. It's your christmas present. (Then someone gave me one that matched the watch I got you. Serendipity, you amuse me greatly)

... *falls down face-first on desk*

I cannot believe how bloody dim I am. Or how awesome you are. Aw, how cool is this! Someone'll walk over to me on the street, all 'have you got the time, lass?@ and I'll be all 'certainly, my dear fellow!' and then I'll whip out this super-awesome pocket-watch and they'll be all like 'no way!' and I'll be like 'yeah. Dig it.'

And then they'll run for the nearest shovel. By which time I'll be long gone, leaving only a message saying 'it's 11:46AM, btw' with a little pocket-watch drawing on it.

THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUU <3 ASDJHGDA;;

Imagine someone asking us the time and we pull out matching watches. (This fact will never cease to amuse me.) It's brown/vintage looking, btw, so plan your outfit accordingly :D

your christmas present is actually two things; I shall keep the other under wraps (pun intended) unless you are in grave danger of buying it.

BROWN? VINTAGE? TWO OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS ASFHSADJHD CAPSLOCKPARTY.

Seriously, I love brown/vintage stuff. It often occurs to me that the colour brown is taking over my wardrobe somewhat (though I was in a distinctly green/purple/magenta mood that day in Liverpool). I bet the watch is gorgeous :D Out of curiosity, do you mean brown as in a bronze colour?

Excuse me while I flail in my excitement. I recommend you keep at arm's length.

*flails*

Also, MATCHING POCKETWATCHES, YAAAAY

We can consult each-other for the time should nyone come up and ask :D

PERSON: Have you got the time?
ME: I certainly have, on my SUPER-AWESOME POCKETWATCH - Zurie, can you consult your SUPER-AWESOME POCKETWATCH and confirm that the time is 11:46AM?
YOU: Let me just find my SUPER-AWESOME POCKETWATCH to check... [checks] It's 11:47AM here!
ME: NO! IT'S HAPPENING AGAINNN! [time distorts, for a bit of a laugh]
PERSON: ... [walks away]

We need matching black shirts with a TARDIS symbol and the caption YOU ARE NOW ENTERING A TIMEWARP, and walk abreast, parting in the middle for people walking in the opposite direction.

You KNOW this would be awesome.

LMAO. I'm actually visualising it and I laughed out loud :'D

Bonus points for carrying speakers that play The Time Warp?

It would be brilliant. I'd love to see how many people accidentally go back in time swerve to avoid us :'D

For now, I'm off to bed. I have my Prince's trust induction in the morning, which means I've got to be up early. Ta-ta for now! And thanks again :D
