My apologies if recently I've been sounding like a loony schoolgirl. The truth is, I've been feeling tremendously excited about the whole Jason situation. You could say that I've grown unaccustomed to this type of attention. It's like I've gone back to being a giggly thirteen-year-old.
And, as predicted, this is another Jason-related post.
I'd been wanting to contact him since last Thursday, when I woke up after the pub quiz and realised that I do have plans on Wednesday - those plans being the Job Centre. I have an appointment at 3:45 regarding continuing my placement at the St Helens Star, and I'm not sure how long it will take as there's paperwork to do, things to sort out... all I know is the place shuts at five!
This is where having no credit on my phone starts to seriously suck. Normally it doesn't bother me; I'm the sort of person who feels that contacting others is intruding on them in some way, but I felt a bit daft for telling Jason I had no plans, when in fact I had this appointment. I wasn't keen on using the house phone because fees for phoning mobiles are astronomical, and we all know that TalkTalk are highwaymen.
Happily, the situation resolved itself when he phoned me up today. We both said our own variants of 'how are you' at the same time, which was a good start - and then I think I lost the plot and babbled, because I was so excited he'd phoned, about how I'd been bored and ill for a few days - I suppose I wasn't really thinking! He said he had a busy week ahead of him, and then we got to the matter at hand: Wednesday.
He suggested we go get something to eat, then watch a film, then pop in to the jam night at the Duke of Cambridge, where a whole load of us celebrated the final presentation evening last week. I said it sounds like a plan, and then informed him of my appointment. Jason lives close to the Job Centre, apparently, so I told him that I'd give him a ring when it was done so we could meet up.
Next time I see him, it'll be Wednesday. I'm going to have to keep myself bloody entertained these next two days so it comes quicker, and cherish the hours I have on the day itself. To ward off the Dreaded Boredom I can draw, paint, play guitar, sing, write, or watch the movies I've got hoarded on Sky+.
I've made a pact, as well, for the next time I see him. I'm not going to talk so much. From my perspective, I've told him much more about myself than he's told me about him. I want to know loads more about him.
My problem is that when I'm excited or nervous, I babble. A lot. When I see him, or he talks to me, I get worked up, I go off on one and he hardly gets in a word. I don't want to annoy him! I'll still talk a lot on Wednesday, but it'll be talk that he can get involved in. Not just about myself. Likes, dislikes... his own Prince's Trust experience would be a good one, actually, what with him being on Team 44. It would be nice to know how the course benefited him and how he changed. I also want to thank him for being so kind last week.
Anyway, how has my Sunday been? Well, we'll say that it's been a long time since I've had a day this uneventful. I've been ridiculously bored without anything to do. As a result, it's gone slow. Ah well, only two whole days between now and Wednesday - all I need to do is keep myself busy!
Ooh, I know how I can keep myself busy! I still have to type up 'The Chronicles of Stan', books one and four, to take advantage of the NaNo '10 CreateSpace offer. That should occupy me for a couple of days!
